Never has the concept of life-long learning been more critical than at this time of high economic activity in an everchanging workplace.

The University of Prince Edward Island is committed to supporting labour force training and education, thereby further extending its range of services beyond traditional degree programs. The Centre for Life-Long Learning develops, delivers, and is involved in a wide range of adult education activities, including professional development certificate programs and short courses; the ProfitLearn series of short courses for small businesses; summer institutes and language programs; online continuing education courses; and customized training for businesses.

The Centre for Life-Long Learning supports academic departments and faculty members to extend their teaching and share their research, by taking care of logistics and promotion, and by creating a welcoming place at UPEI for all learners.

The Centre for Conflict Resolution Studies is offering a new 2-day professional workshop, “Elder Mediation”. The advancing age of our population combined with a belief that all people deserve quality of life, support and care has resulted in issues of aging steadily finding their way into the field of mediation. Elder mediation is based on research that shows the need to establish a solid foundation from which to build the practice of elder mediation so that families who are dealing with issues associated with aging have greater awareness of the options available to help them. <more>
