Verner Smitheram is a Professor Emeritus of the University of PEI and founding Director of the Centre for Conflict Resolution Studies.

He offers workshops for the Centre such as Introduction to Conflict Resolution, Understanding Conflict Through Personality Type, Mediation, One on One Negotiation, Advanced Practice Seminar and Ethics and Conflict Resolution.

As a four time Chair of the Philosophy Department and two term Dean of Arts he has extensive experience in the laboratory of conflict management known as administration. 

Since 1990, he has conducted hundreds of workshops and conference presentations in many aspects of conflict resolution, active learning and Myers-Briggs personality type nationally and internationally for university, school, government, business, professional and community groups.

He is formally qualified to administer the MBTI Stage II and is a published member of the Association for Psychological Type. Within the Department of Philosophy Verner taught Ethical Theory, Contemporary Moral Problems, Business Ethics, Philosophy of Education, Phenomenology and Action and Conflict.
