"We are currently hard at work upgrading the registration process. More on this later, but we assure you it will be easy, fast and convenient.

Check back towards the end of June when we hope to have the full course schedule and detailed descriptions available online. Of the 140 courses being offered this year, we're delighted to tell you that 30% of them are brand new. There will be lots of choices for everyone."

Welcome to Seniors College of PEI.

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing organization devoted to providing learning opportunities for Seniors on Prince Edward Island. We offer a wide range of stimulating courses in three regions of PEI from October to May.  Members enjoy a rewarding learning environment and the opportunity of finding new friendships.

For those who are already familiar with our program, I am pleased to introduce our new Executive and Board of Directors for 2012-2013.

Members, aged 50 or over, simply pay an annual fee of $135 which allows them to take as many courses as they wish in three consecutive semesters.  Some of our most popular courses are drawing, painting, life writing and computers. But why not try something new like Tai Chi or easy gourmet cooking?

There are no academic requirements, and the courses are conducted in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. There is plenty of time for asking questions and enjoying a coffee break with the teacher.

Most of our instructors, or facilitators as we prefer to call them, have been teachers themselves or have retired as career professionals or practitioners.  They relish the opportunity to stay active in their chosen fields such as literature, history or music. Others choose to share their passion for a particular hobby or interest such as opera, bird watching or photography.

Our students, or members, are often exploring an area of interest for the first time, delighting in the satisfaction of learning something new without the pressure of homework or  exams. Mature students bring a wealth of personal experience into the mix.  The result is a lively interactive session with teacher and student sharing and learning together.

So whether you are a member of Seniors College or merely exploring what we are all about, I encourage you to sample our varied programme and find your passion.  We are constantly striving to add interesting courses and we welcome your suggestions and reactions.
