The Effective Reading course increases your reading speed—expect it to double at least—while improving your comprehension. The course is now in its 38th year at UPEI, and has given benefits which last a lifetime to more than a thousand participants.
The Effective Reading course is aimed at anyone who would benefit from improving the speed and comprehension of their reading. Most participants in the past have been people in work with heavy reading loads, current university students, or students preparing for graduate school.
To increase participants' proficiency in reading speed, comprehension, vocabulary, skimming, scanning, study techniques, and coping with heavy reading loads.
Participants take two hours of classwork each week plus a minimum of three hours of individual computer/study time. Coursework is held Tuesdays or Wednesdays (depending on which session you are registered for) in Room 312, 2nd floor Computer Lab, Robertson Library.
