The UPEI Summer English Immersion Program is open to Canadian students, and both youth and adult International students. Canadian students are eligible to receive a bursary from the Canadian federal government to cover the costs of the program. The only constraint with the bursary is that students must stay for the full five weeks of the program.
To apply for a bursary with the Canadian Federal Government, you must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, and above the age of sixteen. As mentioned above, if successful in obtaining a bursary, the only stipulation, as per the funding, is that you participate in the program for the entire five weeks.
Applications for bursaries must be made no later than February 28, 2012. For information on the Explore Bursary, contact the provincial coordinator in your province, or the Council of Ministers of Education Canada (CMEC) at the following address:

If successful in obtaining an Explore Bursary, CMEC will send you a letter. You will also receive a confirmation letter and information package from UPEI by the beginning of April 2012. Please be advised that the Explore Bursary will cover the cost of tuition, accommodations, meals, and most activities. However, the bursary does not include a $200 Registration Fee, $20 Sports Centre Fee (subject to change), the cost of some optional activities offered throughout the program, and a workshop. Both the Registration Fee and Sports Centre Fee are non-refundable after June 1, 2012, and must be received with your application.
