This is an advanced level mediation course teaching the skills for finding solutions and achieving settlement in mediation. Participants will develop the skills required to formulate a workable statement of the problems to be solved, create multiple options for settlement, choose the best options and close the agreement.
This interactive, experiential 2-day course focuses on steps 4, 5 and 6 of the interest-based conflict resolution process and builds on the communication, active listening and problem-solving skills taught in the prerequisite course (see below). This course is a required component of the certificate program.
